These Reservation Terms apply to family reservations submitted during ThinkShop’s pre-opening planning phase. By submitting a reservation and selecting the required consent checkbox, the parent or guardian making the reservation acknowledges and agrees to these terms.
1. Proposed ThinkShop program
ThinkShop is a proposed hands-on educational program for young people ages 8–18. ThinkShop has not yet made a final decision to open.
Reservations help ThinkShop measure serious interest, plan class groups, and determine whether there is sufficient support to proceed. A reservation does not guarantee that:
- ThinkShop will open;
- A particular location will be selected;
- The program will begin by a particular date;
- The proposed schedule, pricing, or program structure will remain unchanged; or
- A student has completed enrollment.
If ThinkShop decides not to open, all family reservation payments will be refunded as described in these terms.
2. Eligibility and authority to reserve
Family reservations must be submitted by a parent, legal guardian, or other adult authorized to make decisions for each student included in the reservation.
The person submitting the reservation represents that:
- The information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge;
- They have authority to reserve spaces for the students identified in the reservation; and
- The students are expected to meet ThinkShop’s applicable age requirements when enrollment begins.
The proposed ThinkShop program is intended for students ages 8–18. ThinkShop may approve exceptions when appropriate.
3. Class-group reservations
Each student reservation is associated with a specific proposed class group. Available spaces are limited and are assigned in the order completed, paid reservations are received.
A completed reservation holds only the student spaces and class groups identified in that reservation. The following do not hold a space:
- Submitting a general interest form;
- Joining an email list;
- Beginning but not completing a reservation form;
- Submitting a reservation without completing the required payment; or
- Requesting a space without receiving confirmation.
Requests to add students, change class groups, or move reservations are subject to the availability existing when the request is processed.
A class-group reservation is not final enrollment. Before a student begins attending ThinkShop, the family may be required to complete additional enrollment documents, provide additional student information, and agree to enrollment policies, safety rules, releases, waivers, and other participation requirements.
4. Standard Family Reservations
A Standard Family Reservation requires a $50 refundable reservation deposit for each student space reserved.
If ThinkShop opens and the family completes enrollment, each $50 deposit will be applied to the family’s first payment amount. That payment amount may include tuition, enrollment fees, or both.
A Standard Family Reservation does not include Founder shirts, founding-wall recognition, or other Founding Family benefits.
Unless the deposit has already been applied to an active enrollment, the family may cancel the reservation and request a refund as provided in Section 8.
5. Founding Family Reservations
A Founding Family Reservation requires a $1,000 refundable advance payment. A Founding Family Reservation includes up to 20 class-group reservations. Each class-group reservation carries the standard $50 reservation-deposit amount, but those amounts are offset by an equal Founding Family Deposit Credit so that the total Founding Family advance payment remains $1,000.
One-family limitation
A Founding Family Reservation is intended for one individual family. It may include siblings, half-siblings, step-siblings, adopted siblings, foster siblings, or other children who are part of the same family, regardless of whether they live in one household.
It may not be used to combine reservations for unrelated families, informal groups, clubs, homeschool co-ops, businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, or other organizations. Those arrangements are subject to ThinkShop’s organization-reservation options and terms.
ThinkShop may request additional information if reasonably necessary to determine whether a reservation qualifies as a Founding Family Reservation.
Application of the $1,000 payment
The $1,000 payment applies collectively to the student spaces included in the family’s completed Founding Family Reservation.
If ThinkShop opens and the family completes enrollment, the $1,000 will be maintained as a credit and applied to the family’s first amounts due. Those amounts may include tuition, enrollment fees, or both.
The family will not be required to make additional payments until the full $1,000 credit has been used. After the credit is exhausted, the family will be responsible for payments under the enrollment, tuition, and fee policies then in effect.
The $1,000 payment does not lock in a particular tuition rate, fee schedule, opening date, or program structure.
Founding Family benefits
A qualifying Founding Family will be eligible to receive:
- One special Founder shirt for each student included in the Founding Family Reservation;
- One special Founder shirt for one parent or guardian; and
- A small plaque recognizing the family on ThinkShop’s founding wall.
Additional Founder shirts will be available for purchase separately at the price and under the ordering terms established by ThinkShop
The plaque may identify the family using wording such as:
Smith Family
Thank you for helping build ThinkShop from the beginning.
ThinkShop may require different plaque wording if proposed wording is misleading, inappropriate, excessively long, or incompatible with the design or available space on the founding wall.
Founder recognition and benefits:
- Belong to the family that made the qualifying reservation;
- May not be transferred to another person, family, group, or organization without ThinkShop’s approval;
- Have no cash value;
- May not be exchanged for additional tuition credit or a larger refund; and
- Are subject to reasonable production, sizing, design, display, and distribution requirements.
ThinkShop may wait until it has decided to proceed with opening before producing or distributing Founder shirts or installing founding-wall plaques. If a Founding Family cancels before a benefit is produced or distributed, its eligibility for that benefit ends.
6. Proposed schedules and program changes
ThinkShop remains in development. Proposed details may change, including:
- Location;
- Opening date;
- Class days and times;
- Class-group structure or capacity;
- Tuition and fees;
- Staffing;
- Facility design;
- Curriculum;
- Projects;
- Age groupings; and
- Enrollment or participation requirements.
ThinkShop may organize students, projects, or instruction according to age, experience, demonstrated readiness, safety considerations, or other program needs.
If ThinkShop changes or eliminates a reserved class group, the family may choose either to:
- Move the affected reservation to another class group with available space; or
- Cancel the affected reservation and receive a refund of the payment associated with that reservation.
If another material program change prevents the family from reasonably using its reserved spaces, the family may cancel the affected reservation and request the applicable refund.
7. Trial visit
Before deciding whether to complete enrollment, a family with a reservation will be offered an opportunity for the prospective student or students to attend a trial visit.
Trial visits are subject to ThinkShop’s scheduling, capacity, supervision, safety, conduct, and participation requirements.
If the family decides after the trial visit not to enroll, it may cancel its reservation and receive a refund of its reservation deposit or unused Founding Family advance payment.
Participation in a trial visit does not require the family to complete enrollment.
8. Cancellations and refunds
A parent or guardian may request cancellation of a family reservation by contacting ThinkShop through the contact information provided on the ThinkShop website.
Unless these terms state otherwise, reservation payments remain refundable until they are applied to an active ThinkShop enrollment.
If a family cancels before completing enrollment, ThinkShop will refund the applicable Standard Family deposit or Founding Family advance payment.
If ThinkShop decides not to open, ThinkShop will refund all Standard Family reservation deposits and Founding Family advance payments.
Once funds have been applied to an active enrollment, the enrollment, tuition, cancellation, and refund policies then in effect will govern those funds.
Refunds will be returned to the original payment method whenever reasonably possible. The time required for a refund to appear may depend on the payment processor, bank, card issuer, or other financial institution. ThinkShop is not responsible for processing delays occurring after it has properly issued a refund.
A cancellation ends the family’s claim to the cancelled class spaces. Those spaces may be made available to other families.
9. Enrollment is separate from reservation
A reservation provides the opportunity to complete enrollment for the identified spaces if ThinkShop opens and the applicable class groups remain available.
It does not by itself:
- Create an ongoing membership;
- Complete student enrollment;
- Guarantee that a student will be approved to participate;
- Replace required enrollment documents;
- Replace safety agreements, waivers, releases, or medical and emergency information;
- Guarantee placement beyond the specifically reserved spaces; or
- Guarantee continued participation after enrollment.
Enrollment and continued participation will be subject to the policies, requirements, and safety standards then in effect.
10. Payments
Reservation payments are processed through ThinkShop’s third-party payment processor.
The person submitting the reservation authorizes ThinkShop and its payment processor to process the amount shown on the reservation form using the selected payment method.
A reservation is not completed until:
- The required reservation form has been submitted;
- The required payment has been successfully processed; and
- The reservation has been accepted by ThinkShop’s reservation system.
A failed, reversed, disputed, or cancelled payment does not hold class space. ThinkShop may cancel a reservation if its required payment is later reversed, charged back, or otherwise not received.
Submitting a payment does not authorize ThinkShop to initiate unrelated future charges. Any recurring tuition or other future payment arrangement will require separate authorization or enrollment terms.
11. Communications
By submitting a reservation, the parent or guardian authorizes ThinkShop to contact them about:
- The reservation and payment;
- The proposed ThinkShop launch;
- Schedule, location, pricing, or program changes;
- Trial visits;
- Enrollment requirements and deadlines;
- Refunds or cancellation requests; and
- Other information directly related to participation in ThinkShop.
This authorization does not require consent to unrelated promotional communications.
The parent or guardian is responsible for providing accurate contact information and notifying ThinkShop if that information changes.
12. Information collected during reservations
ThinkShop may use information submitted through the reservation forms to:
- Administer reservations and payments;
- Communicate with families;
- Measure demand;
- Understand the expected composition of proposed class groups;
- Evaluate where interested families are located;
- Plan schedules, staffing, facilities, and program offerings; and
- Prepare for possible enrollment.
Payment information is handled through ThinkShop’s payment processor according to that processor’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
ThinkShop may request additional information during enrollment if it decides to open. Reservation forms are not intended to replace later emergency, medical, safety, or enrollment documentation.
13. Transfer of reservations
A family may not sell, assign, or transfer a reservation, reservation credit, or Founder benefit to another person, family, group, or organization without ThinkShop’s prior approval.
ThinkShop may permit reasonable changes involving students within the same family when space, age eligibility, and program requirements allow.
14. Version applicable to a reservation
The version of these Reservation Terms in effect when a reservation is submitted governs that reservation unless the parent or guardian later expressly agrees to revised terms.
ThinkShop may update these terms for future reservations. A later version will not automatically replace the version governing an earlier reservation.
ThinkShop will retain or archive previous versions so the terms applicable to an earlier reservation can be identified using the reservation’s submission date.
15. Electronic agreement
Selecting the required consent checkbox and submitting the reservation constitutes the parent’s or guardian’s electronic acceptance of these Reservation Terms.
The electronic record of the submission, including the consent selection and submission date, may be retained as evidence of the agreement.
16. Entire reservation agreement
These Reservation Terms, together with the information and payment amount shown on the submitted reservation form, constitute the agreement governing the reservation.
Website descriptions and promotional materials may explain the reservation options but do not modify these terms unless expressly incorporated into the reservation agreement.
These terms apply only to the pre-opening reservation. If the family later enrolls, separate enrollment, tuition, safety, conduct, cancellation, and participation policies may also apply.
